NewCastle, Delaware - October-1, 1999 - AudioScience Inc., a manufacturer of digital audio products for the broadcast industry, has announced that it has entered into a strategic partnership with Electronic Design Associates, Inc. (Costa Mesa, California) to develop next generation audio technology for its line of professional audio peripherals.

In particular, AudioScience and EDA will develop MPEG audio compression algorithms to run on AudioScience's new line of digital audio adapters - the ASI6000 series. These adapters are based on the Texas Instruments TMS320C6701 chip, which at 1 billion floating-point operations per second is the most powerful floating point DSP on the market today.

"EDA is a recognized leader in audio signal processing technology and we are pleased to be able to tap into their expertise for our next generation products," said Richard Gross, President of AudioScience, Inc.

AudioScience has also licensed EDA's suite of audio driver and signal processing technologies that have been developed over the last decade and are currently being used in the broadcast market.

"We have seen AudioScience quietly make a name for themselves with highly functional, professional level, audio adapters," said Howard Jelinek, President and owner of EDA. "The field of audio compression and effects is constantly evolving and our work with AudioScience will allow them to take their products to the next level."
